Our Adventures in January

My Sister came out with the kids at the beginning of January. We went on a really nice hike, in the hills around our house, called Quicksilver. It was super nice, except for Chloe at the very end... she just! couldn't! go! any! further! My sisters kids are growing up too fast! My nephew is so tall!! {and oh so 16 year old cool} We seriously look forward to their visits every time!

Here's Chloe not wanting to go anywhere.

Chase discovered some things this month that he's been missing out on in the kitchen:

The Tupperware cupboard!

The dishwasher!

And Spaghetti Noodles!

We have been sick for what seems like the WHOLE month of January.
All 3 kids with snotty wet noses, bad coughs, 3 ear infections, and 1 with walking Pneumonia (Pronounced - Lavonia by Riley, and Damonia by Chloe) They're working on it :)

Needless to say we have been in our jammies/comfy clothes alot, and been watching a lot of movies

And can you believe it! We made a beach trip in January! It was a friends idea, and I'm so glad we went- it was actually nicer this time than many times in the summer! No wind, perfectly clear, upper 60's. It was a really great day!

The high chair was a genius idea for the baby! Because as you can see, by his mouth, once he was put on the sand, he straight dipped his head into the sand, and didn't even care! He had so much fun here, just looking around, being held by Mom and Dad, and playing with the sand toys {when we let him}

Here's the Mommas with their cute babes!

The girls had fun digging for crabs and jumping in the water

And finally some family photos, because the sunset was just that beautiful!

Our 7th Anniversary

So, I knew our anniversary was coming up, but when the day actually came, I completely forgot! Mike woke up and gave me a card, and then I realized that I had done nothing for him! So, I sent Mike out shopping for a few hours (so he could return everything I bought him for Christmas- no joke) I went onto a website called the dating divas, which I love! They have all sorts of spouse date ideas, I especially like the ones that you can do at home. So I pulled a few things together and we had a date night when the kids went to bed! I think it was the best anniversary we had!

He came home to this invitation taped to the door, in an envelope

Then while he was reading a book to the girls, I got this all set up, with candles everywhere! including the awesome iPad app that has just a candle light, so cool.

The game was just a list of questions to ask back and forth, we switched it up a bit and tried to answer for each other. I actually learned quite a few new things about him that night!

Another fun part was that the girls made me get into my wedding dress. I was unsure at first, but they were so excited, that I couldn't say no! I was also pleased to discover that I still {barely} fit into it.

Happy 7th Michael!

Napa

Some wonderful friends invited us to go up to Napa, CA right after Christmas. We had a really great time! We swam in the heated pool (only in Cali can you swim at the end of December), visited a castle, rode a tram up a mountain, and the kids asked if they could live in our hotel room forever! It was beautiful there!

On top of the Mountain!

Testing out their new rides

We have been so blessed this year! With lots of changes and events, we truly feel as though the Lord is guiding us everyday! We have had such a wonderful holiday this year with family and friends. We have tried really hard to find a good mix of having fun and teaching our children about why we celebrate Christmas. Our goal next year is to spread those teachings that we know to be true with others through service! I wish we would've done more this year. Anyways, these are the pictures from our Christmas.
