A Wonderful Baby Blessing

Tysen was blessed in church yesterday.  Mike gave the most beautiful blessing to him!  We decided to bless him  just about 2 weeks ago, and we knew our family members wouldn't be there with such short notice, so we had some wonderful friends that helped Mike in blessing him.

The men in the circle were Erich Hoelzer, Hugh Hall, Scott Jensen, Kenric Russell, George Nijmeh, and Steve Hunter.  I feel so much gratitude towards all these men and their families, it was like a past, present, future experience for me.  Some of them were there when Mike first joined this church, and really helped him on his way, others were there in the singles ward where we met and got married and were great strengths to me and Mike, and who also were there with us in the temple when we got married, another was friends with us while we had our first 3 kids, and served diligently with Mike for years in our old ward , and others are in our ward now, and who we treasure the friendships we've made.  It was a wonderful day to celebrate our fourth child Tysen.

1 month old Tysen

So far, life is moving on with 4 kids.  Here is our little Tyse at 1 month old.  He is starting to smile here and there, and really likes to stare at everything!  He is just so precious!  The kids are still loving every minute of it.

Chase is loving playing in the new things around the house - my feeding the baby chair, and the new baby car seat...among many, many other things, which I don't have pics of.

The girls are so, so helpful.  They are done BEGGING to hold him, and now will hold him if I need to do something for a few minutes, and keep him out of big brothers "loving" grasp.

And here is my biggest dilemma right now, I can not seem to manage all they toys!  I sometimes wonder if my house will ever stay clean for longer than 5 minutes!

I found these toy pictures on my camera, taken by my girls along with about 100 other pictures of blurry things around the house, and many self portraits!  And here is one of my little photographers:

Tysen Parker

Here I am at 39 weeks Pregnant - Getting ready to be induced the very next day

And here we are THE VERY NEXT DAY!

Here are the kids meeting their new little brother.  They are all loving him so much!

My parents were awesome!  They helped out more than I could even imagine!

Our crazy new family of  6

And here is the little bundle ready to go home- in the same car seat that every other kid of ours has used!

Boy have we been excited to welcome this baby into our family! We thought he would come earlier than he did, my girls were pretty impatient! But, alas he arrived.

I got my dates mixed up, and thought I was due on the 13th, but at my last appointment, the doctor confirmed that my due date was the 24th.  My mom was able  to be  here, and she came out pretty early, and was planning to leave on the 24th, so my doctor was willing to induce me a week early.  I really hoped I would go on my own, but no.

We went in early on a Monday morning to be induced-   I had some makeup on, legs shaved, and  a cute outfit, it's kinda weird- how do you dress to drive to the hospital and deliver a baby?  It's a big day, so you better look good, if you can! Right?

Now, I call this my labor story, but this labor was anything but labor. Seriously.  Here is the beautiful story of the easy birth of our son.  My doctor came in at about 9 am, and broke my water, then started me on pitocin.  At that point I was dilated to about a 4. About 40 minutes later, the "magic juice man" came in and gave me my epidural.  Then we waited.  We watched tv.  We read magazines.  I took a nap.  Talked to some family members on the phone.

Then at about 12:00, the nurse cam in and checked me and said I was only dilated to a 5.  Boo.  With that she upped my pitocin.  Then Mike decided he was hungry, and left to get some food.  When after about 15 minutes of him being gone, I started to feel the pressure, but wasn't sure {having the epidural and such} and when the nurse came back in, I told her, and she checked me, and lo and behold, I was dilated to a 10!  In only 45 minutes, I went from 5 to 10!  She said- call your husband quick, and I won't call your doctor until he gets here.  Mike flew back in.  Then I got the shakes, waiting for the doctor to arrive.

The doctor got there at  about 1:00.  I began pushing, and 2 pushes later he was here! He arrived at 1:09 pm.

Seriously, the easiest labor ever!  I really feel so blessed.  I get nervous about every delivery, you know, things can always go wrong.   But, we are so grateful for such a wonderful delivery, and a healthy, adorable baby boy!  By the way, he has dark hair like his brother.
