Houston

Last year one of our very dear friends from the willow glen ward moved to Houston.  It was fun to call and  tell her that we were moving to Austin.  Its also been fun discussing all the Texas things we are getting used to!

In mid February, their daughter got baptized, so we headed right down there to be there and hang out with them.

There are 2 girls in their family, whom my girls adore!!!  Riley actually said about a month before we moved here, these sweet words..."Torias's my best friend, there's nobody better."  She was so excited to be there for her baptism, and we were all so, so excited to see some familiar faces!

 

 

We stayed the night in a hotel, then the next day headed to Galveston Island, which is a little beach town.  Its too bad it was a Sunday, or else we would have been able to do a ton more, however it was a gorgeous day, and we really enjoyed our time together!

We bought our first House!!!

Well, we're building it, we are so excited!

Our first week in Austin...

... well we actually live in Round Rock, which is just north of Austin, and totally better!

Looking back on the first week here, its kinda hazy.  Just adjusting, tired, disoriented, unsure of what you've just done!  But these are definitely good memories, it was just the 6 of us, no one else to rely on, discovering what this unfamiliar place had to offer. 

    Life now is just the same though, feed the kids, clean the house, kiss the husband, go to Target or Costco, try to nap, go to the park.  This really is a nice place to live, I often have to remind myself that I am no longer on the west coast, that I am in the middle of TEXAS... and almost the middle of the United States.  This is our home now.
