A visit with Grandma

This past weekend we drove up to Rocklin (which is about 2 1/2 hours away, just North of Sac) to see Mike's Mom. She hasn't met Chloe, and had been begging us to make a trip up there - she doesn't drive much. We had a fun time, she gave the girls each a bag of fun presents - and of course, they loved them. While we were there, we went to Johns Incredible Pizza, which has all you can eat salad, pizza, pasta, & dessert, along with fun games for the kids. Here's a few pics from our day

Grandma Genny, Riley, & Mike (I think they all have the same smile)

This is her first time in a restaurant high chair...uh huh, NASTY DIRTY. I felt like showering her in hand sanitizer afterwards.

Us adults get to talking, we look over and Riley was chug-a-luggin Mikes soda - she NEVER has soda, so this must have been a real treat!

Riley & Mommy on a kid ride - wasn't sure it would hold me

OK, I think this was my favorite part of the whole trip. Riley got on this big ride all by herself - look at her with all those big kids! I don't even think she was tall enough to go, but she did anyway...and she LOVED every minute of it, with all of the ups and downs and ups and downs. I think Mike was in tears at the fact that his little girl is getting so big, but he wouldn't admit it.

7 months

Chloe is pulling herself up on everything!
I'm happy with her making a milestone and everything, but I can't stop thinking that this can only mean one thing - Trouble for MOM!

Soccer Season!

Soccer began this week, and since Riley is only 2 1/2, she gets to do it with Dad. There aren't any games, just classes to teach them basic skills. Here are a few pictures of our day

All ready for my first soccer practice!

A few "2 Year old" moments. On the top, she got wet and was freaking out, then while running over to me, she fell and wouldn't get up. This was pretty dramatic for her, but hilarious to watch.

Even Daddy needed a water break

Chloe and me cheering from the sideline

We hope Riley really enjoys soccer. It was a fun start to soccer, especially because the day was all finished off by hamburgers and shakes at In-n-Out - It doesn't get better than that.

Pictured above are Traci, with her kids Conner and Camryn ~ Jon & April with Haleigh, Lauren, and Collin ~ Julie & (James in spirit), with Jake and Cole, Keri (future husband in spirit) ~ Jaime & Mike with Riley and Chloe. We had all 5 kids there, but missing James (Julie's husband) who is now in Iraq, we wish he could have been there.

So you think you can dance!

It was my birthday this week, and Mike surprised me with tickets to the "So you think you can dance" tour, they came to San Jose. We have loved watching this show this season with all of the super cool dance routines. We were front and center in the 9th row, and the music was so loud, it just made you want to stand up and dance! My favorite dance is Forever with Twitch and Comfort -click on this link and you can see just how fun it is!!!

Saturday is a Special Day

This particular Saturday was a very special day. We went to the temple! We have not been in probably 6 months and we had wanted to go for so long. We love learning more about who we are and why we are on this earth. We definitely needed the blessings from the temple.
We were so glad that Mikes parents (who live in Berkely) watched Riley and Chloe for us. They took the girls to the park, read them books, and watched movies with Riley. Grandpa Beall had never seen Aladdin, and he said it was quite enjoyable. Chloe, on the other hand cried quite a bit I guess :(
After the temple, we came back and had dinner with everyone. We always love going to Grandma and Grandma's house because Grannie Fran always has new and interesting kinds of cheeses for us to try and we love just sitting around the table talking, laughing, and eating together

Our old Friend

When we first moved into our ward, we quickly became friends with the Adams (Luke, Kirstin & kids). Every Sunday they sat on the same row in church, and gave evil eyes to anyone who would take it -just kidding :). Well, they moved 2 years ago, and it was total deja vu to walk in last Sunday and see Luke sitting in their same spot, I had to do a double take!

Anyways, we totally miss them here, 2 of their kids are exactly the same age as ours. We had Luke over for dinner, and Mike and him enjoyed their typical deep spiritual discussions/debates. Its fun to sit and listen to them.
The best part of the night was when Luke TOTALLY broke our chair! How rude! Here he is, holding a piece of our poor chair. Actually, it was our fault. Ikea chair, 5 years old, not a good combination. He was just sitting there eating peacefully, and in a split second, the chair shattered and sent Luke straight to the ground. Can you invision it in your head?? Pretty funny. We missed you Kirstin!

Mommy and Me Day

Living in San Jose, I am always looking for free events. Today at Santana Row (an outside mall) they had a bunch of free activities for kids. Riley had a great time, and Chloe even enjoyed looking around a little too! Here are some pictures of the events. Sorry there are so many, there were too many fun moments to pass up!

The end of summer

I guess Labor day officially marks the end of summer, although around here it still feels like summer will be around for a while! So, my sister Traci (her 2 kids) and my sister Keri came to visit for a couple of days. We decided the beach would be the best place to go. It was totally perfect weather - totally crowded - and totally fun! ... TOTALLY!! :)

Mike, Jaime, and Chloe so in love!

Do you see the sand?? All I'm thinking is "she's gonna SCREAM when I have to put her under the beach shower!" She did. Strange people around me were laughing.

Riley on Conner's shoulders. Conner's face you ask?? He's a teenager.

Riley getting Mommy all wet because she got knocked by a wave -its OK I don't mind!
